Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is convinced he can bring out the best in Adam Johnson.
Johnson came off the bench and turned Tuesday night's game against Manchester United in their favour.
"I am convinced he can help us and give us a massive hand between now and the end of the season," Poyet said. "It was one of the biggest plus-points of the day.
"It is up to us and up to him, us to give him chance to perform and another is him playing like he did against Manchester United, being aggressive on the ball, commanding, taking people on and I hope he continues and does really well until the end of the season."
