Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has held talks with Independiente striker Facundo Parra.

Parra is off contract in June and Poyet would like to sign him this month.

However, his Argentine club are refusing to do business, which is likely to see Parra seek a return to Europe at the end of the season.

The 28 year-old had a season in Italy with Atalanta in 2012/13.
