Sunderland aim to close a deal for Internacional striker Ignacio Scocco today.
The Argentine touched down on Wearside yesterday.
A deal expected to be in the region of £4m has been agreed between Sunderland and Brazilian side Internacional, with the attacker agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal, says the Sunderland Echo.
Poyet told the Sunderland Echo: "Scocco is different to what we have and I think he will be a big asset to the club.
"I see him as a striker, possibly in a front three, but wherever he plays he has a lovely touch and movement and a great eye for goal."
