Sunderland boss Poyet requests personal hearing

Gus Poyet has requested a personal hearing after denying a Football Association charge of improper conduct.

The Sunderland manager was embroiled in a touchline fracas with Hull City boss Steve Bruce in last week's 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium for which the charge was laid by the FA.

Poyet booted a water bucket after protesting to referee Mike Dean when Jack Rodwell was booked for diving in the first half, prompting a face-to-face with Bruce.

The Uruguayan was sent to the stands not long after attempting to shake hands with Bruce which riled the Tigers manager even more.

Poyet has denied the improper conduct charge and will now look to clear his name of any wrongdoing with a personal hearing.
