Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is on Tottenham's shortlist of replacements for underfire manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Sunday Express says Michael Laudrup and Poyet will find themselves on a Spurs shortlist if frustrated chairman Daniel Levy decides to axe Villas-Boas.
If Spurs continue to misfire Levy won't be afraid to act sooner rather than later.
That would mean trying to lure a top replacement to north London with Swansea's highly-rated boss Laudrup and former Spurs star Poyet - who only took over at Sunderland in October - both on Levy's radar.
