Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has defended underfire Manchester United counterpart David Moyes.
Moyes is under mounting pressure with his side having all but surrendered their Premier League title, been dumped out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle by Swansea, and facing a tough Champions League last 16 clash next month with Greek side Olympiakos.
Poyet said: "David deserves credit because he took the most difficult job in the world after Sir Alex left.
"It was always going to be the most difficult job in the world. It's a big change, and it's not like when you change managers at any other club after two or three years.
"I hope he's given time to change things round because he deserves that for what he's done at Everton."
