Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is happy for Santiago Vergini to put his feet up this week.
Poyet admits that the versatile defender was not given a moment's rest as the Black Cats' head coach tried to acclimatise him in double quick time to new team-mates and a new style of play.
"The international break is perfect for Santiago, because when he got here for pre-season, it was play, play, play, play!" said Poyet.
"Now he can relax.
"But it's like he's never left.
"Last week in training, he started running in that specific kind of running.
"It's come natural for him."
