Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is happy Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure avoided a ban this week.

Toure escaped punishment for kicking out at Ricky van Wolfswinkel during City's draw at Norwich City.

Poyet said: "Toure should be playing. These things happen in games. Where is it going to finish? We already can't tackle.

"Do we want our players to play in ballet shoes? We're playing football - there's contact."
