Sunderland boss Gus Poyet says he needs readymade Premier League signings made this January.

Under Paolo Di Canio, Poyet's sacked predecessor, Sunderland recruited 14 players in the summer and 13 of them were foreign.

Poyet said: "We will need players who can come in and play immediately.

"To sign players who have played in this league would be ideal."
