Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is delighted they can call on striker Jermain Defoe and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.
The pair were influential for Sunderland's draw with Swansea City.
"Now the team knows that if you play a certain way and can control the game and get the ball into good areas in the box, Jermain will do the rest," said Poyet.
"It's instinct, it's natural.
"He doesn't want to hurt the ball as we say in Spanish. He knows how to hit the ball and he knows where the goal is. It makes the rest very confident.
"Panty made two great saves. People talk about the whole spine, but they (goalkeeper and centre-forward) are two key positions.
"Certain aspects of the game, the way you want to play are important, but you've got key positions and without doubt the one who saves the goals and the one who scores them are the most important ones."
