Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is ready to axe goalkeeper Vito Mannone.
The Daily Star says Mannone will be taken out of the firing line when Sunderland travel to Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Black Cats' boss Gus Poyet had previously stuck by the Italian after their 8-0 mauling at Southampton 10 days ago.
But Mannone followed up his St Mary's nightmare with a clanger against Arsenal on Saturday, fluffing a clearance to gift Alex Sanchez his second goal.
That proved an error too far for Poyet and he will now hand a Premier League debut to Costel Pantilimon who has waited patiently for his chance since his summer move from Manchester City
