Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill says new signings Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson can make their debut against Capital One Cup opponents Morecambe.

Both are available to play after the game against Reading at the Stadium of Light was postponed over the weekend.

"The Morecambe game takes on a lot of significance now, although I thought it did anyway beforehand," O'Neill told safc.com.

"After Reading we might have made one or two changes. Now we'll have a little look and see what we're going to do.

"We will go pretty strongly into the game because obviously we want to get through."
