Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill still refuses to explain the reasons behind his resignation at Aston Villa.

He still refuses to lift the lid on the full story behind his shock departure, which came after a dispute about his spending power following the sale of James Milner.

O'Neill said: "I am not going into any explanation of anything now - the eve of a match is not the right time. At some stage I may clear up an issue or two. It might be useful, but it won't be today."
