Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill feels the FA Cup is back after their passionate draw at Everton.
Everton must now go to Sunderland for a replay after Saturday's 1-1 draw.
O'Neill, who has lost just one of 14 Goodison visits as player and boss, insisted: "With the advent of the Premier League, then the Champions League becoming so massive, the FA Cup took a back seat for a while.
"Just look at some of the teams in the semi-finals and Liverpool have just won that competition.
"The League Cup had a lift so why shouldn't the FA Cup, which is a wonderful competition." "Then there was the time Manchester United didn't defend it - or were forced to go elsewhere. It had definitely lost a bit of its sheen but I think it's fighting back, like the League Cup.
