Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is confident landing a striker signing.

O'Neill has refused to comment on potential interest in Fletcher but does want to improve his goalscoring options.

O'Neill would only say to Sky Sports News: "We have certainly in pre-season found it a bit of a problem scoring goals.

"But I think we can rectify that."
