Sunderland boss David Moyes says Victor Anichebe was key to victory over Leicester City.

Jermain Defoe struck the winner on Saturday, but Moyes was keen to also highlight Anichebe's contribution.

"Jermain was fantastic and because we have a striker of that quality, that calibre, it gives us a great chance," said Moyes to the Sunderland Echo.

"But it would be remiss of me not to mention Victor.

"The way he has performed he has allowed us to build up play through him and given us another option.

"Victor was a bit unlucky not to score in the first half.

"We needed Victor really to turn things in our favour in the second half when it just looked like it might be going away from us a bit.

"He does a really good job for us."
