Sunderland boss Roy Keane is weighing up a bid for want-away West Brom defender Curtis Davies.
Portsmouth's £8.5m bid was turned down 12 months ago and, although he would prefer to keep Davies, Tony Mowbray has warned interested parties that the defender will not be cheap.
"I've had a conversation with Curtis and he's sensible enough to realise the price has got to be right for us to even consider letting him go," said the Baggies boss. "He's someone I admire as a player and a person.
"He's the club captain, and I would very much like him to stay at West Brom and lead the team next season. I've always said I only want players here who want to play for the club but that doesn't mean to say we're going to let players walk away. In the past 12 months, precedents have been set whereby defenders have moved for big fees and we rate Curtis very highly."
