Sunderland boss Keane: I'm learning new management skills every day

Sunderland boss Roy Keane says he's learning about man-management all the time.

The former Manchester United captain told the Sunday Sun: "Different players need different things at different times in different situations.

"I'm learning something new every day and one of the things I'm learning is to deal with the more flamboyant characters, shall we say.

"Different players need to be treated differently, be it the experienced lads like Djib and Yorkie, lads like Dioufy and Pascal or the younger players.

"I'm still inexperienced myself and I'm learning about them and how to deal with them and get the best out of them.

"Man-management is a big part of this job and its something I need to polish up on, no doubt about it.

"If I thought I had all the answers, I'd sound like Brian Clough. And even he didn't have all the answers - although he'd probably say he had most of them!

"I'm open-minded. I was as a player, as well. I worked with different characters as a player, from Eric Cantona to Gary Neville, and the main thing is that when the whistle goes you all go into battle together."
