Sunderland boss Keane holding Musampa talks

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is holding signing talks today with Dutch trialist Kiki Musampa.

The Journal says Keane and Musampa are expected to meet this morning and, having played in the top divisions in Holland (with Ajax), Spain (with Malaga and Atletico Madrid) and France (with Bordeaux), as well as the Turkish and English elite leagues, the 30-year-old's nous would benefit a squad that the Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones this week admitted is paying for its top-flight inexperience.

As a free agent, Musampa will be allowed to move, despite the transfer window's closure on August 31.

With the departed Tobias Hysen and injured Kieran Richardson having left Keane without competition on the club's left wing, a manager who will also be without captain Dean Whitehead until long into 2008 could use his versatile talents.
