Sunderland boss Roy Keane has hit back at Portsmouth signing David Nugent over claims he didn't do enough to convince him about Wearside.

Keane told The Journal: "I wasn't impatient with Nugent. I waited five weeks. If he thinks that is me being impatient he doesn't know me. I don't know why he was disappointed. I made him a cup of tea. The deal wasn't sitting right but only time will tell if he made the right decision. I wish him well."
