Roy Keane has taken a dig at Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul about his decision to join Portsmouth over Sunderland.

The Sunderland manager said: "Younes Kaboul has decided not to sign for us and we wish him well.

"I think it might have helped if I had taken him to the casino until four in the morning. What do I mean? You're intelligent, work it out. People have different ways of dealing with different players but it's a long time since I was still up at four in the morning - that's not my style.

"Younes made his decision and the important thing for me is that I got the chance to bring him to the club for a look around and to speak to him.

"We made a good offer but it's not happened on this occasion and we move on."
