Sunderland boss Keane admits Cole setback

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed Andy Cole has suffered a setback in his race for full fitness after picking up a minor calf injury.

Cole came through 65 minutes of a reserve clash with Everton last week but has since complained of a niggling problem which threatens to put back his Black Cats debut.

Keane told the club's official website: "Coley has a bit of a calf injury and as a result has not done too much this week.

"A few of the players have niggling injuries, they just need rest for them to settle down and this is the week to do it.

"I am still hoping that Coley and a few of the others will be back in training and in contention for Reading," he added.

"It's been a hectic start to the season and the break gives us a chance to take stock."
