New Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio says it's too soon to consider new signings.

Di Canio says he has not arrived at the Stadium of Light with a wish-list of potential signings, insisting securing survival is all that matters at present.

He said: "I did not arrive here with a list of players I want to bring in, because I cannot look that far ahead.

"Now my priority is to do the best job with the players I have and make them play the best they can because we need to get points.

"We are not in a position to think about the next transfer window."
