Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio wants to make history with the club.
Di Canio says it's time Sunderland started shooting higher.
Di Canio, 44, wrote in yesterday's matchday programme: "Can you tell me how it's possible that this club have won nothing for 40 years?
"This season, Sunderland lost to Middlesbrough and Bolton (FA Cup) from the Championship.
"With this stadium, with these fans, with a healthy club that has spent millions, they go out in the Capital One Cup to Middlesbrough.
"If you told me they had played against Man United in the first round for the past 40 years, I can understand."
