Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio remains open to selling Stephane Sessegnon this month.

Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio remains open to selling Stephane Sessegnon this month.

The Evening Chronicle says the Benin forward was linked with a move to Qatar over the weekend which coincided with talk in Italy that Sunderland had launched a loan bid for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella.

The former Marseille forward would prefer to stay on Wearside but there remain doubts in Di Canio’s mind about the ability of Sessegnon to fit in with his favoured system.
