Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio plans to sell Connor Wickham this summer.

The Sun says Wickham is set to be sold by Sunderland after failing to impress his new boss.

The Black Cats forked out £8million to prise the one-time whizkid from Ipswich two years ago.

Wickham has two years left on his contract and his situation is being monitored by Sheffield Wednesday following a six-match loan stint there towards the end of last season.
