Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio insists he's not pushing David Vaughan out the exit door.
The Mirror says Championship promotion chasers Reading have joined the race for Black Cats midfielder Vaughan, who is also a target for Premier League new boys Crystal Palace and Hull City.
But Di Canio insists he's in no hurry to offload the £1m-rated Wales international.
He said: "I don't expect many players to leave before the transfer deadline.
"A lot of players leaving is simply not part of the plan - we do not have a big squad. I'll look to make the most of every player."
