Paolo di Canio says he's be waiting two years for a job in the Premier League.

Di Canio gave his first media conference as Sunderland manager this morning.

"Every time a manager was sacked Paolo Di Canio's name was top of the list, but nothing until now. I did well in the last 21 months, but it was a big surprise and I'm ready.

"I was ready two years ago for the Premier League but I understand you have to prove it and I did League Two and delivered a winning mentality. For sceptical people they will realise they were wrong because I am ready."
