Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio insists he's proud of the efforts of his players after their draw wit Southampton.
Today's draw took Di Canio's tally since he arrived at the end of March to a relatively modest eight points from six games, but he insisted that represents a "miracle" considering the state in which he inherited his squad.
The Italian said: "I have been part of this environment for five weeks and eight points in six games, in this situation, the players have performed a miracle, for me.
"Eight points, I would sign now. I am discovering every day what is going on and eight points, I would sign.
"Before I signed a contract with the club, I would have signed for eight points from six games straight away, so the lads have done an amazing job."
