Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio knows victory at Newcastle United would be a massive career moment.

Di Canio believes leading his side to victory at St James' Park tomorrow would make him an instant hero on Wearside.

He said: "Sunderland fans are amazing. They are known everywhere.

"A win on Sunday would give me even more adrenalin and desire. And yes, you can become a hero.

"I know people support the club forever but maybe with a new manager, some sceptics think he is young and he is not mature.

"So if you win it is good medicine. You always want love from the fans but in this moment it can be an extra help."
