Sunderland boss Steve Bruce had previously made a loan enquiry for Paris St Germain midfielder Stephane Sessegnon but received short shrift from the French outfit. Bruce admitted on Wednesday that they had made little progress but has now reportedly returned with an offer of a permanent deal for the Benin international.
The Wearsider's though are currently in the middle of an injury crisis with Lee Cattermole, Danny Welbeck and Fraizer Campbell all on the sidelines leaving Bruce needing to quickly strengthen his squad during the transfer window.
