Sunderland boss Steve Bruce refuses to pay over the odds for Wigan Athletic fullback Maynor Figueroa.

The Times says Bruce is eager to strengthen his squad, but expects only one or two additions and the full-back positions are his priority.

His leading target is Figueroa, the Wigan Athletic left back, but he will not be held to ransom.
