Sunderland boss Steve Bruce wants to keep hold of fullback Phil Bardsley.

The former Manchester United man has been linked with Blackpool as Bruce wraps up the signing of Estudiantes right-back Marcos Angeleri.

However, The Journal says Bruce is still hoping to persuade Bardsley to stay.

This is expected to see Bruce end his interest in Tottenham defender Alan Hutton.
