Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is chasing Valencia centre-forward Nikola Zigic.
Hard-up Valencia are resigned to selling Zigic, 28, who has been watched by a host of Premier League clubs after he enjoyed a recent loan spell at Racing Santander where he scored 13 times in 19 games.
