Sunderland boss Bruce targets Man City pair Johnson, Bellamy

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is chasing Manchester City pair Adam Johnson and Craig Bellamy.

The Sunday Express says Bruce would like winger Johnson, 24, on a season-long loan while he knows that Manchester City are desperate to sell Bellamy, who has just a year left on his contract.

Bruce missed out on signing England wideman Johnson when Middlesbrough decided to sell, the player preferring the higher wages on offer in the North West.

But uncertainty over Johnson's future at the Etihad Stadium continues with City manager Roberto Mancini admitting that he is in the market for a top winger. His No 1 summer target, Udinese's Alex Sanchez, has joined Barcelona.
