Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits Europe is a possibility this season.
With three of their next four games at their Stadium of Light stronghold, Bruce reckons he'll have a fair idea where Sunderland are heading.
"The next few weeks will tell us whether we can make a push for Europe," said the Geordie, who has been in a similar position before.
He recalled: "At Wigan, we got 63 points from Christmas to Christmas and we had the makings of a very, very good team.
"But then I had to sell Valencia, Palacios and Heskey. Ouch!
"The players here can handle the expectations and I don't think we're far off."
