Despite injuries, Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will not recall midfielder Jack Colback back from his loan at Ipswich Town.

Bruce has opted to let his young charge develop in the Championship, adding that frontman Martyn Waghorn will also remain at Leicester for the rest of the season.

He told safc.com: "The last thing I want to do is call them back to cover for a week or two weeks.

"We've seen the benefit of Jordan [Henderson] going out on loan last season and I think that will benefit them too."
