Sunderland boss Bruce ponders replacement signing for Richardson

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has concerns over Kieran Richardson's commitment.

The Journal says Bruce is trawling the market for a left-back with some degree of uncertainty still lingering over Richardson's desire to continue in a defensive role next season. Although Richardson says he would be happy to continue playing at left-back next term, talks over his new contract are still at an early stage.

Bruce has told the former Manchester United man he sees him as a defender - something that Richardson is mulling over before signing his new deal.
