Sunderland boss Bruce not giving up on Tottenham striker Pavlyuchenko

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is desperate to land Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The People says Bruce will make a new move for Tottenham striker Pavlyuchenko in the next window.

Bruce failed in a deal to land the Russian hit man on loan when Spurs pulled the plug in the final hours - and left him having to settle for Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal.

Pavlyuchenko, 29, was poised to go to Wearside but Spurs supremo Daniel Levy changed his mind because he could not land a suitable replacement with Peter Crouch heading out of the door.
