Sunderland boss Bruce hopes to wrap up deal for Man City's Dunne

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is hopeful of wrapping up a deal for Manchester City's experienced central defender Richard Dunne.

The popular Republic of Ireland international, 29, is set to be a high-profile casualty of manager Mark Hughes' summer spending spree.

Sunderland are eyeing a deal at £4.5m. City don't need the money - but Dunne didn't play to his usual high standards last season in which he was sent off three times.
