Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has plans to buy FIVE new strikers in the summer.
The Mirror says Bruce doesn't have a fit recognised forward for the final four games after £13million record signing Asamoah Gyan joined the injury list.
Sunderland sold England international Darren Bent to Aston Villa in January.
And with Fraizer Campbell expected to be out for most of next season following another round of knee surgery and loan signing Danny Welbeck returning to parent club Manchester United, Gyan will be the only senior striker on the Black Cats books.
Chairman Niall Quinn admitted: "We have to look at giving the manager every chance of improving us and taking us further by giving him a stronger hand."
