Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has hailed the engine inside young Irish midfielder David Meyler.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 midfielder has forced his way into Bruce's plans after running more than eight miles in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
The Black Cats boss admits he was stunned by Meyler's ProZone stats after restoring the 20-year-old to his team, saying: "The lad's miles above everyone else. He got through 13-and-a-half kilometres against City, which is phenomenal.
"Apparently, Fabregas is up there, but I have to say he's not done it to that extent in Arsenal's games against us."
