Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is delighted with the form of Andy Reid this season.
Bruce revealed he has spoken to Reid about his international exile and urged the former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest player to concentrate on his club form.
The Sunderland boss said: "He was superb against West Ham but it is not just his ability, it is his athleticism as well.
"The ability to run up and down the pitch is what catches the eye now. He has got himself fit.
"We have had conversations about it but the squad has been picked, it is done and there is nothing we can do or he can do, other than keep playing like that."
