Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has confirmed interest in Ipswich Town superkid Connor Wickham.

The Sunday Sun says Sunderland are keeping close tabs on 17-year-old Ipswich striker Wickham, with a view to possibly offering strikers Daryl Murphy and David Healy - both of whom are currently on loan at Portman Road - as part of a deal.

Bruce said: "We're aware of the lad, he's a very talented boy. But if he became available I'm sure there would be plenty of other clubs who would like to be kept in the picture."
