After victory over Hull City, Sunderland boss Steve Bruce insisted Darren Bent could force his way back into the England reckoning.
"You can see he is enjoying playing here, he's enjoying his football again and he's enjoying being Sunderland's centre-forward," said Bruce of his £10 million signing.
"He was upset four years ago because he scored 22 goals for Charlton and didn't go to the World Cup in 2006.
"But if the goals keep coming, he must have a chance this time. If he can keep on producing this kind of form, why not?"
