Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is convinced by the potential of Duncan Watmore.
Watmore's dad, Ian, is a former FA chief executive and was on the panel which reviewed England's dismal showing at the Rugby World Cup.
"You have to be capable of pushing away those distractions," said the Black Cats boss when pressed on the trappings which appear to have befallen Jack Grealish, of Aston Villa.
"Duncan, and particularly his old man, seem to be very good and very level headed, so hopefully that type of situation won't happen.
"His dad wouldn't let Duncan get too above his station, or too cocky or arrogant too quickly. When you get all the headlines you can tend to go the wrong way instead of the right way, which is where you have to become more dedicated.
"You have to get rid of all the distractions, which is very difficult for a young man when you've got a few bob in your pocket and everyone wants a bit of your attention because you're this star in the Premier League."
