Sunderland boss Allardyce demands £50M transfer budget to stay

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is demanding a bumper transfer budget to stay.

The Sun says he will demand a summer war chest of up to £50million in crunch talks with owner Ellis Short next week.

Big Sam has not committed himself yet and said: “I will not know until we have that conversation. My meeting with Ellis next week will be to set out a lot of where we are going.

"I look forward to it because it has been such a great achievement for me and I want to take this club forward.

“The most important thing is me recruiting the players which will help the club get better.

“But one of the problems is, it is going to be much more competitive. And that's the problem — we have to spend millions and millions to get better."
