Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce remains angry being ignored for the England job.
He believes his “ultimate dream" of managing England will be over if Roy Hodgson stays on after Euro 2016.
Allardyce, whose Sunderland side travel to Watford today, admitted: “Aye, that's gone. For me to be interested in the England job, Roy would probably have to leave at the end of the Euros and would England be interested in me?
“They say they are looking for an English manager but will they do it? “You've got this, 'what's sexier?' element now, rather than how good you are at doing the job."
Allardyce is seven years younger than 68-year-old Hodgson, whose England contract expires in July.
But he said: “If you look at Roy's record, internationally, he's been all over the world.
“He has a huge amount of experience at international level with other countries.
“All that experience helped him get the England job, which was obviously a good choice, although obviously we have to do well in the Euros. But for me, it's far distant in my mind talking about the England job."
