Sunderland are ready to bid for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

The Sunday Sun says they have turned their attention to French enforcer Nzonzi, who has told relegated Rovers that he wants to leave Ewood Park, after missing out on Momo Diame, who joined West Ham United.

The 23-year-old ex-France Under-21 international still has three years left on his contract and will not come cheap.
