Cisse, who joined Sunderland yesterday on a season-long loan, said: "I have a lot of regrets. But the coach has made his choice. And I respect it. I do not believe I was one of his priorities, so I think that this departure is the best thing for everyone.
"I go on-loan. This is not definitive, there is always an open door.
"This is a new challenge. A team that we think of as small that seeks to grow, and that puts a lot of resources in recruitment for a good season. But one thing is for sure is that there is potential."
